Humanities SCH

The ESF Research Conferences Scheme is a high-level conference programme in partnership with national and international organizations, including universities. The Scheme provides the opportunity for the worlds leading scientists and other participants, including young researchers, to meet in an informal setting for discussions at the highest level on the most recent developments in their fields of research. Furthermore, it acts as a catalyst for creating new synergistic contacts throughout Europe and the rest of the world. The conferences may be series or single events. They will be interdisciplinary when appropriate. The duration will normally be four or five days and up to 150 invited speakers and participants may attend (see http://www.esf.org/conferences).

A Call for Proposals is now open in the Humanities for conferences to take place in 2008, supported by ESF and Linkping University (LiU) (ESF-LiU Conferences in the Humanities and Social Sciences).
For one conference, the Call is open to any topic, in all areas covered by the ESF Standing Committee for the Humanities (SCH), namely SCH covers the following broad fields of research: Anthropology, Ethnology and Folklore; Archaeology; Art and Art History; Classical Studies; Cognitive Science; Gender Studies; Heritage Studies; History; History and Philosophy of Science; Linguistics; Literature; Media Studies; Music and Musicology; Oriental and African Studies; Pedagogical and Educational Research; Philosophy; Psychology; Religion and Theology.

- Landscape studies Archaeology Cultural Heritage
- Histories, stories and images of people in movement
- Cultures of Youth, Cultures of Childhood
